The International Fastener Expo (IFE)
-Emerald Expositions

Informative Print Brochure
The International Fastener Expo (IFE) is a three-day convention from October 30 - November 1. It will be in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The event provides attendees with half a day of educational seminars and 2 and half days to explore the show’s many exhibits.
IFE is the largest and most diverse fastener show in the United States. It’s the perfect venue for networking, whether you’re a distributer, supplier, or buyer. It’s also a great place for engineers to get a look at the products in person. It’s the ideal show to make connections and find networking opportunities. While the digital market is an ever-growing one, the in-person relationships formed at an industry show cannot be replicated in any other way.
We’re excited to announce that our show will include some new exhibitors this year. Some of these noteworthy contributors are:

• Edsco Fasteners
• Auveco LLC
• Bodycote Thermal Processing
• Helm Instrument Co Inc
• Doerken Corporation USA
• Surface Combustion, Inc.

IFE is owned and operated by Emerald Expositions, which, last year, connected over 500,000 attendees from all over the world. IFE was established in 1981 and has proven to deliver business ever since. It’s also an expo that supports the industry. We showcase nearly 70 product categories, more than 850 suppliers, and over 2500 buyers from 30 nations. Our efforts have made us an industry leader and won us numerous awards.

IFE honors individuals with two different award of our own, recognizing forward thinking and hardworking individuals for their excellence in the fastener industry. The first is the Hall of Fame award for leaders whose contributions have created
development on a national or international level. The second is the Young Fastener Professional award, for visionary professionals under the age of 40, who continuously impact the industry. We will be presenting three Hall of Fame awards
and one Young Fastener Professional award at a ceremony during the expo. IFE will be co-localizing the Mandalay Bay Convention Center this year. October 31 – November 1 marks the first ever Pavement Expo West. After Emerald Expositions
acquired the National Pavement Expo in 2016, a new event was created, specifically for pavement maintenance professionals, vendors, and suppliers in the West Coast market.

IFE continues to grow and expand, matching distributers with suppliers by gathering them all in one place and giving them the chance to show their exhibits. We look forward to seeing you there.

The irony of looking for a good home sauna to relieve stress, is how stressful it can be!
There are a lot of saunas out there, and really anyone can build a sauna. Some are built by contractors that have no medical background. Which sauna should you get, and which sauna actually has medical benefits that a doctor would recommend? Which sauna would I allow my own elderly parents to use? These are the questions I had before I purchased my own sauna.
I did a lot of digging. Here’s what I found.

There’s a company called Medical Saunas that has doctors and health care specialists singing its praises. It seems to have all the aspects I’m looking for, but is it real? I was skeptical in the beginning, so I started doing my research.
Medical Saunas, under the umbrella of Medical Breakthroughs, is a company that claims they strive to increase the wellness of their customers. And the Sauna 6 Plus is one such model. This sauna is said to increase your blood flow and heal your muscles. But I wasn’t completely convinced. So, I decided to try it for myself.
Many companies charge for shipping. I’m on a low income, and I worried this would mean an extra $800 charge, but shipping is free.
They delivered the Medical 6 Sauna to me. Sure, it looked good, but did it really do everything the company said it could?
What are some of these health benefits? Well, the whole point of saunas is that they use the principles of hot/cold therapy. But many models of at-home saunas take too long to warm up, which defeats the entire purpose. The Medical 6 Plus heats the body almost immediately. Another benefit is that most regular saunas don’t remove BPA, a common toxin, from your body. But this sauna does. Yet another benefit is that the Medical 6 Plus has an insulated airflow system, to avoid unwanted temperature fluctuation.
All this sounds great, but how was the heating system?

Medical Saunas use an infrared heating system, designed to heat your body directly, not just the surrounding room. This may sound potentially dangerous, and, indeed, some company’s saunas have high EMF (electromagnetic field). The Medical 6 Plus, however, has an EMF lower than a hairdryer. You can see for yourself here: http://medicalsaunas.com/infrared.php
So far, so good, but could they back up their health claims?

Their site has a number of videos from professionals who talk about the benefits of the sauna. An especially impressive video is from a chiropractic doctor, Dr. Damon Gangemi D.C., who found the sauna useful in providing medical therapy to patients.
But there was one last concern I had. And it was a big one. I didn’t want to shell out my hard-earned cash to find that it stopped working within the first few weeks.
The Medical 6 Plus has excellent durability. Many saunas work fine in the beginning, but aren’t very long lasting. These saunas are made from Hemlock, so they actually harden and become more durable with age. This is because of the natural wood, which doesn’t have any chemicals. It will actually become stronger the longer you own it! These units are sturdier than the competition, weighing significantly more.
I have to admit, in the beginning, I worried that the effects of the Medical 6 Plus sounded too good to be true, but once I got it home, I was amazed by the results.

Two years ago, I was quite the world traveler. I wound my way through Europe until briefly settling in France. It was a magical time. To pay the bills, I started working at a charming little café. It sometimes meant being on my feet for long hours during the day and night, but it was so worth it. I loved the city I lived in, and I loved that I gave myself the experience of staying in a place so different than the one I grew up in.

But I few months back I returned to Los Angeles. It was just time. I missed my family and was growing homesick. I still like to keep active though, hiking up to the Hollywood sign whenever I can. Then early last month, I realized my feet were causing me pain. It started out as light cramping and mild discomfort, but soon became more intense.

I scheduled an appointment with a podiatrist to find the source of the problem. He examined my feet and told me that, while there was nothing medically wrong with them, they were probably just incredibly sore from so much use. My work in Paris compounded with my hiking in Los Angeles had put a lot of pressure on them, and they were rebelling in the only way they knew how. I was dismayed. Was there nothing to be done for me?

But my podiatrist had some advice. With a chuckle he told me there was another type of podiatrist that might be able to help me. A company, Medical Breakthrough, made a foot massager called the Podiatrist.

It seemed like an odd suggestion to me. Weren’t foot massagers for recreation. I supposed I could see the medical uses of a massage. And here was my foot doctor actually recommending it. That was a major positive argument for getting this device. And a company called Medical Breakthrough was clearly making products with those benefits in mind. Despite my hesitation, for those reasons, I decided I’d give it a try.

Medical Breakthrough’s Podiatrist looks like what I’d seen in my head when I heard the phrase “foot massager,” though I was pleased to see the product was very small, could fit under an average table or desk, which could come in handy if I found the massager actually worked.

I slipped my feet in and switched it on. The Podiatrist does 3 things: it both squeezes and stretches the sides, toes, and heel of your foot as well as applying a roller under your arches. This means your entire foot is getting attention. And I could really feel the effect.

After a few minutes the massage had finished. My feet tingled. Not in an unpleasant way, but I did feel a bit like I was walking on gelatin. I wasn’t used to massages, particularly on my feet. Hmm. Was that normal?

Over the next few weeks, I continued taking my excursions, going hiking and then using the Podiatrist afterward. The tingling occurred less the more I used it. And most importantly, my feet started hurting me less.

About a month after using Medical Breakthrough’s Podiatrist, I felt like I was walking on brand new feet. It was incredible. I found a spring returning to my step. It just meant devoting a few minutes of the day to the massage. And it’s a massage! It’s a great experience. I’d definitely recommend the Podiatrist to anyone experiencing foot pain.
